SPECIFICATIONS:
Hybrid System Notes:2-Mode Hybrid System utilizes two types of power: energy created by the 6.0L gas engine and electricity generated by the electric motors and 300V Energy Storage System.
When in Auto Stop at a light or stop sign the Hybrid will conserve fuel by shutting off all engine power. This ensures that no fuel is wasted and no tail pipe emissions are produced.
While operating at slow speeds or during stop-and-go city traffic, the Hybrid may just use electricity, taking its power from the electric motors and 300 V battery, giving you the ultimate efficiency of a hybrid system.
The Hybrid may also run on both the electric motors and the 6.0L gas engine depending on vehicle speed and engine loading.
And when conditions warrant, such as passing, climbing or pulling a trailer, the Escalade Hybrid will seamlessly transition to full combustion-engine power.
To further improve highway fuel economy the Escalade Hybrid can sense when you don't need the full power of the eight cylinders and can automatically adjust to run on four cylinders. The Escalade Hybrid is Cadillac's first vehicle to use this Active Fuel Management technology.
Making all this electricity available for the Hybrid to use is the Regenerative Braking feature. It captures some of the energy lost during braking and stores it in the 300 -volt battery pack for future use.
