Can I edit stored files?
Yes, but remember that, if you work directly in your web interface, after changing the file you must save the file using a new name on your computer, otherwise any changes will be lost. This is due to the file being saved as a temporary file that is not stored. If you work with your stored files via your Network places alternatively your Finder, or if you are using the software WebDrive, you can edit files without having to use a new name.
Can I save all types of files from my computer?
Yes. We have ethical rules and regulations, however, regarding the type of information that can be stored. Our ethical guidelines can be found in our Terms of Use.
Can I share my account with others?
Yes. You can share files/folders/web albums meaning that you give other people access to the parts of your account you choose to share. In addition, you can give other people your login information and thereby give them full access your account.
If you, for example, are part of a project group in which you want to share files and folders in a more professional manner, we recommend the plan Storegate Multi which includes support for workgroups.
Can I use your services from my own computer only?
No, you can use any Internet connected computer you like, any where, any time, and reach all your stored information.
Can I view my stored files?
Yes. Click on the file you would like to view. You have the option to open or save. Choose ’open’. If you are trying to open a large file and are connected using a modem it is advisable to save the file to your hard drive before viewing.
Do I need broadband to use your services?
Yes, we recommend that you have broadband.
How do I retrieve my files, if for example, my computer should be stolen?
This can be done in a number of ways, always using drag and drop between your computer and your storage area on your account.
How do I store my files?
There are different ways in which you can store your files; using drag & drop directly in our web interface, automatically via Storegate AutoStore, through integrating your so called storage area into your computer, using an FTP-client, and through using the software WebDrive (FTP client).
How long does it take for me to store my files?
That depends on how much information you have as well as your Internet connection. Generally speaking, however, the first time you back up all your files, it will take some time. After your initial backup, however, the process will be much faster since the software only backs up new and modified files. The easiest way to backup your files is by using Storegate AutoStore. This software backs up your files in the back ground which means that you can keep on working as usual with your computer while software is saving your data. How much information can I store at my account with Storegate?
The only thing limiting you is how many MB/GB you subscribe to.
