Well this is where it all started! This is the oil made for Sian when she was pregnant with Charlie who is now 15 and 6 foot tall! So now you know why we feel so much affection for Tummy Rub Oil. IIt is a gorgeous blend of only four premium oils, rich in omega 3, 6 and 9, which we discovered are absolutely key to protecting your skin throughout the nine month s-t-r-e-t-c-h. You will notice that it sinks in quick... it is a completely un-oily oil! This has taken 15 years to perfect; in the first few batches it was orange and stained everything. But it is absolutely perfect now; colour-free, it won't stain your clothes (or your sheets or your husband!), soaks in immediately and is exactly what your skin craves. You will love the fragrance; Gravida, is a blend of ten safe and comforting essential oils that somehow smells just right. We get more feedback on our beautiful fragrance than almost anything else because fragrance is just so important to all of us.
Tummy Rub is available in an oil and in a butter; this is because some mama's like an oil and some like a cream. They are both equally amazing. It is your choice. We have lots of mamas who use the butter in the morning and the oil in the evening, which works really well if you just can't decide!
If you, like us, still love it long after pregnancy, don't feel you have to give it up. We all use it every morning after a shower on slightly damp skin; on legs, arms, tum and bum as it gives skin the same glow and softness enjoyed throughout pregnancy. Also the fragrance becomes a bit of an addiction; it is just exactly what we want our skin to smell like – clean and fresh and slightly fruity. It is brilliant at banishing winter lizard legs. In fact, we love it so much that we have now created Mama Mio O•Mega Body Oil for 2008 – everything you adore about Tummy Rub in a big pump bottle for every inch of you.
Every ingredient in Mama Mio Tummy Rub Stretch Mark Oil has a distinct moisturising purpose and is laden with Omega 3, 6 and 9 – superfood for the skin.
Our Tummy Rub Stretch Mark Oil is a perfectly balanced blend of four oils:
Sweet Almond Oil (cold-pressed to get the very best quality) is rich in all important omegas and very nourishing. It is highly moisturising and quickly absorbed, leaving a soft sheen on the skin with no residue.
Borage Oil is an ancient oil used in the Far East for thousands of years, it’s one of the richest sources of Essential Fatty Acids omegas, specifically gamma-linolenic acid (rich in omega 6) is very effective in healing damaged skin. Borage Oil is wonderfully moisturising and very active as it is quickly recognised and utilised by the skin.
Wheatgerm Oil is rich in Vitamin E and is amazingly healing and nourishing to the skin. In addition Vitamin E is useful for its role as a power-full anti-oxidant, soaking up free radicals (so that’s anti-aging) and helping those superfoods get on with their vital work.
Rosehip Seed Oil is very rich in omega 3 and omega 6, which are beneficial for the treatment of damaged and distressed skin by providing intense moisturisation. This oil has the added benefit of naturally occurring trans-retinoic acid (think benefits of retin–A but without side effects) which is very helpful in preventing stretch marks.
100% moisture and natural goodness, full of Omega 3, 6 and 9 – but it isn't at all oily (weird but true). Your thirsty skin immediately soaks it up leaving it super soft with a protective sheen. After 15 years of trials, we know this is the best stretch mark protection oil we can make. So it is no surprise to us that it has won a lot of awards and has been the subject of countless emails of thanks. We loved using it because it smells gorgeous and makes you feel gorgeous and, seven babies later, our skin still looks good!

Directions:
Rub in twice a day from above your boobs to below your bum and all the way round. In the beginning, you are rubbing it on for yourself ('stop stretch marks, stop stretch marks') but as the weeks go by and your tummy grows, it becomes a magic ritual of massaging your baby and a time to dream, thinking of names and what wonders await. You will want to use it for at least four months after baby has arrived in your world. This is because it helps keep your skin toned and tight as you shrink back down to normal.
It is totally safe to use whilst breastfeeding. As with all skincare, just avoid the nipple area as your baby does not need a mouthful of tummy rub!
